History
eBusiness Solutions, Inc was founded in 1987. We began the business to support software and systems for Qantel minicomputers.Soon after, the success of the IBM PC caused us to begin experimenting with, and using, Microsoft technologies. We were one of the first Beta testers of Microsoft Visual Basic as it evolved from Microsoft QuickBasic. We have also kept abreast of open system technologies, particularly for serving web sites.
Web Services
In 1998, we began providing web site design and development and as the technology matured, we began providing hosting and content management services, too .Today, we host over 600 web sites using LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PhP) servers. We also host with Microsoft Windows Server with MIcrosoft SQL Server for sites requiring a robust data base solution.
Systems Support
In addition to web site customers, we also have installed numerous Windows Server networks and provide ongoing support for networks in our local area of Southeastern Virginia. We are extremely proud of our commitment to client support over more than 2 decades
Software
One of our long term strengths has been to envision, procure or design, and implement software that improves our clients' service levels and revenues with a cost structure that allows an improved bottom line. We have added modules to packaged software, interfaced new hardware components, set up routine communications between incompatible machines, and developed entire systems to run our clients' business. We have completed custom software for proprietary, open, and Microsoft systems. Our custom software clients include manufacturers, retailers, professional service firms, wholesale distributors and more.
Our Approach
Our approach is consultative. We first look at the business and gain an understanding of its strategy and key success factors. We then look at how strategy is implemented and the processes that support strategy; looking for gaps and opportunities. Once we have the facts, we define the possible improvements and rank them by need, payoff, difficulty, and resource requirement to establish a framework for setting priorities. We then present our findings to client management and look to them to identify the most beneficial changes. We typically help implement the changes we recommend. Depending on the nature of the project, our involvement could be limited to facilitator or project manager or we could providing staffing to accomplish some or all of the required tasks.
